 After 18 years in jail for murder Joe Steele was released in March 2004 following the appeal courts decision to overturn his conviction. Joe was released following a long campaign to prove his innocence. In February 2003 he became the first Scottish prisoner to undertake a polygraph test which conclusively proved his innocence.
